How soon can I start CrossFit after my breast reduction?
Cross fit is a high intensity workout. For that reason, I would not recommend starting this type of program before 4-6 weeks after breast reduction surgery. The variability has to do the size of the reduction and how fast you heal after surgery. I do not let patients perform high intensity workouts until all of their incisions are healed, minimum of one month. Sometimes, small raw spots take longer to heal. In these cases, strenuous exercise is not advised until complete healing is achieved.
Cross fit is a very intense work-out. I would recommend not going all out for 6 weeks. Especially if you are having any healing issues. You may start some lower impact work a four weeks if all is going well. However, you should discuss this with your plastic surgeon. Good luck.
When Can I Do Cross Fit After Breast Reduction - One can resume any activities at least 4 weeks after breast reduction. For Cross Fit I would wait 4-6 weeks, as this will involve more strenuous activity.
Two weeks is typically sufficient time post-op to return to exercise.
