Do Restylane injections work on African American skin?
Should the doctor be skilled in working with African American skin for this procedure? I'm African American, age 43, and was considering Restylane injections for my under eye hollowing. Will it cost over $1000?
These types of fillers (hyaluronic acid gels) can work very well in the under-eye area, regardless of skin color or ethnic background, but the physician needs to have extensive experience so that the final result appears natural and smooth. There are a range of fillers that cost about this same amount and some that can cost even more which is usually dependent upon how long the product lasts, and of course, how much you will need to correct the problem. Be sure that you are advised by a board-certified plastic surgeon who can suggest the best filler for your particular situation.
Yes, your practitioner should be skilled in the fillers. Fortunately, African-Americans respond well to facial fillers. Consider a member of ASAPS for your procedure. They are experts in this field of facial treatment.
