The Aesthetic Society Presidential Update February 2025

The Aesthetic Society Presidential Update

Dear Members,
The theme of my presidency is "energy and team," which has been a perfect recipe for
accomplishing all the initiatives that I set forth for the year. We have a renewed sense of teamwork and accountability infused with enthusiasm and excitement to serve our society and specialty. The outpouring of energy from all of you has led to the momentum that has allowed us to reach new milestones in all our initiatives.

On the membership front, I am excited to report that The Society is enjoying the highest number of members ever enrolled with nearly double-digit growth in all tiers of membership including active members. With the recently added Allied Pro and alliance partner MOU international residents tiers, this is proof that the global membership sees our new vision for growth and inclusivity. We have now signed 38 Memorandums Of Understanding (MOU's) with our global partners.

ALLIEDPRO SIGN UP

In this rapidly growing aesthetic ecosystem, a significant membership gap has been a lack of non MD contributors in the aesthetic market and a lack of leadership in the nonsurgical segment. This is why we created the Allied Pro category of membership within The Aesthetic Society. The purpose of this category is to serve all non-MDs involved in the delivery of aesthetic care from the front office personnel to the back office and all those working in a medical spa such as nurse injectors.

Allied Pro provides a sense of confidence, credibility, and community for these members, allowing them to receive their education from the most trusted source of education, which is a great story to share with patients and consumers. I encourage all of you to join me by signing up your Allied Pro staff to this prestigious membership category in our society.

Furthermore, to empower members and make our society more transparent, the Board has embarked on the 8-month project of modernizing our governance. The changes proposed to the Bylaws were sent to all members for their comments last month. The objective was to update and optimize The Aesthetic Society's leadership selection process to be more objective, transparent, and consistent with an emphasis on meritocracy. This will allow us to select the brightest and most dedicated volunteer leaders to serve our society.

On the education front, The Aesthetic Society Academy, our digital platform for housing all education materials, is taking roots. Through The Academy, the "reimagined" education program is taking shape, and 3 categories of webinars have been developed to cater to: our MOU global partners (GEMS series), all surgeons (Saturday Master Class series), and Allied Pro members (Blueprints series). They will provide both surgical and nonsurgical content to enhance learning from key opinion leaders.

THE AESTHETIC ACADEMY ACCESS

I am also excited to talk about our beloved annual aesthetic meeting: The Aesthetic MEET. In Austin next month, we will continue the theme of reimagination. Think of it as the evolution of our annual gathering, a reimagined experience that embodies our commitment to innovation and inclusivity. It's still the heart and soul of our educational calendar, but with a fresh, contemporary twist. In addition, this year we will be joined by colleagues from Facial Plastic Surgery, Oculoplastic Surgery, and Dermatology who will attend and participate in our education programs within their scope of practice.

The Aesthetic Society Presidential Update Feb 2025

Let's continue our momentum of "team and energy" and take it to Austin, Texas at The Aesthetic MEET March 20-23, 2025.

Although we are in the early stages of reaching our goal of reestablishing The Aesthetic Society as the premiere leader in the aesthetic space, I am proud to report that the vitality of our team of dedicated volunteer leaders and staff have generated the momentum to accomplish many of our goals.

THE AESTHETIC MEET REGISTRATION

As a society and throughout our history, we have faced many challenges, but each time we have turned difficulties into opportunities. I am proud to report that with a culture of innovation and adaptability we have once again answered the call. I hope you can all join me in Austin to celebrate the year's accomplishments with a toast. And if you can't, please look for me around the world as I attend international conferences to educate, present, and meet with global colleagues and partner societies around the world.

I wish you all happiness and health. Together we are stronger.
Your President,

Dr Movassaghi signature
