Dr. Cash was raised in Indiana, where he completed a master’s degree in physical therapy at the University of Evansville, graduating magna cum laude. As part of his physical therapy training, he spent time observing orthopedic surgery in the operating room, and it was there that he decided he wanted to be a surgeon. He attended medical school at Emory University in Atlanta and completed his residency in general surgery at Vanderbilt University.

Dr. Cash’s time at Vanderbilt exposed him to many areas of surgery. During his rotation in the burn unit, he watched the plastic surgeon transform a 16-year-old burn victim. He saw that a surgeon can affect a patient’s life profoundly by repairing or improving their appearance. Dr. Cash remained at Vanderbilt to complete his plastic surgery residency under the direction of R. Bruce Shack, M.D.

In his time at Vanderbilt, Dr. Cash had the opportunity to present multiple research projects at meetings of national plastic surgery societies, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. Dr. Cash founded his own private practice, Nashville Plastic Surgery, to provide patients with the highest levels of patient care and outstanding surgical results.

Dr. Cash has lived in Nashville since 2005 and is the proud father of two beautiful daughters.
