About Shahin Fazilat, MD
Introduction
Dr. Shahin Fazilat is a cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgeon Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Dedicated to serve the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.
Dr. Fazilat currently maintains operating privileges at El Camino Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital, Sequoia Hospital and a number of Bay Area surgery centers.

Education & Training
Dr. Fazilat earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland at College Park, where he graduated with honors. He went on to obtain his Medical Doctorate from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington DC, graduating in the top quarter of his class. He then completed his general surgery training at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC.
Throughout college and medical school, Dr. Fazilat consistently placed into highly competitive research programs such as The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Fellowship Program. As a result of his extensive research, he has authored and co-authored over a dozen publications.
He went on to gain specialized plastic surgery training at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons/Harlem Hospital Center in New York. While in New York, he was fortunate to train with internationally recognized experts in the field of plastic surgery at Columbia University/Harlem Hospital, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and New York University.
He completed a cosmetic fellowship at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, Virginia and a further plastic surgery fellowship at Stanford University with an emphasis in micro/reconstructive surgery and hand surgery.
He is currently an adjunct faculty/clinical instructor at Stanford University in the Division of Plastic Surgery and is involved in the training of plastic surgery residents at Stanford University. He also serves as an examiner for the annual plastic surgery board review course held at Stanford University.
