The Aesthetic Society Presidential Update
The Aesthetic Society Presidential Update

Wow, May and June were busy months. In the spirit of my theme for the year, energy and team, we are embarking on "reimagining" how The Society conducts on three pillars of its foundation: membership, education, and relationship with industry.

Travels Dr. Movassaghi

TRAVELS
As part of my outreach activities to membership and colleagues globally, I traveled to UCSD as a visiting professor and attended the California Society meeting in San Diego where I was joined by three other society presidents: Dr. Steve Williams of ASPS, Bertha Torrez of the Mexican Society, and Arturo Montanana of ISAPS. With several of our leaders I attended ISAPS' meeting in Cartegena. I would like to congratulate my good friend, Dr. Lina Triana for an amazing presidential term and wish Dr. Arturo Montanana for starting his term as the new president of ISAPS.

MEMBERSHIP:
On the membership front, we have increased our new membership application process from twice a year to quarterly, providing additional opportunities for potential members to apply. Internationally, we are expanding our global reach to our colleagues to welcome them to our Aesthetic Society family. As such, we are in the process of signing multiple Memorandum of Understandings (MOU's) with our international sister societies. In addition, we have expanded the AlliedPro membership category for all nonsurgical members involved in an aesthetic team with a robust educational platform in development. I encourage all of you to register your front and back-office staff, as well as members of your medical spa to take advantage of this prestigious membership category.

EDUCATION:
On the education front, I along with the newly-selected education program team of elite surgeons met in New York city to start planning for The Aesthetic MEET, our annual meeting. We are in the process of developing a reimagined, premiere educational program.

PARTNERSHIPS:
Lastly, on the industry front, we are exploring new ways of expanding our relationship with partners to ensure that industry feels invested in our mission of improving outcomes for our patients through innovative technologies and education.

COMBINED SYMPOSIA:

THE MEET:
Get enthused for 2025's Aesthetic Meeting, March 20 - 23 in Austin, Texas! We not only have an exciting location, but we have a new name for it as well, The Aesthetic MEET!

The Aesthetic MEET reflects our deliberate quest for growth and innovation and will continue to be the centerpiece of The Society ... by continuing to offer premier educational programming, exceptional networking opportunities, and an innovative marketplace filled with industry leading exhibitors.

 Sincerely,

Dr Movassaghi signature

The beautiful Fall is here and it's time for pumpkins and creative Halloween costumes. For The Aesthetic Society, this has been the year of reimagination and we've continued to reinvent both our internal and external processes to set ourselves up for success in the new aesthetic landscape.
I am incredibly proud to be President of the rebranded, The Aesthetic Foundation! Like I said at the Business Meeting in Vancouver, Caroline Glicksman certainly set me up for success with all the progress of her year, and I know working with President-Elect, Pat McGuire, and the whole Foundation Board will lead to another year of growth and impact on our specialty.
