The simple answer...yes. What you are describing is a cheek lift with a temporal lift. My concern is that your surgeon is recommending a neck lift , so I would really need to see and evaluate your facial features to make a good assessment and individualized plan.

An overgrowth of the mandible (jaw bone) in the chin area can either be reduced, removed or even sometimes implants may be used to create symmetry. Careful evaluation of your teeth occlusion is important to make sure no orthognatic work is necessary before.

I'm 70 years old and in good health, with tight skin, so I've been told that I'm a good candidate by facial plastic surgeons that I've consulted with. I'd like a non-biased opinion regarding healing time, and aesthetic outcomes in 70 year olds.

Rhinoplasty has a healing time that varies depending on what kind of changes you want to make (nasal bump, vs nasal tip, etc.), but usually the healing time is 10-14 of swelling & bruising around the eyes and mid face; the aesthetic outcome has more to do with your tissue quality and what changes you desire. This can be more thoroughly explained during an in office consultation.

Thank you for your question. I would probably go with what your plastic surgeon recommends. Specifically ask him or her what your goals are. The insurance has pre determined amount that they wlll approve regarding your height and weight but they do not have any aesthetic "value." Discuss other options with your plastic surgeon or if unsure seek a 2nd opinion with another board certified plastic surgeon. With the absence of pictures and a physical exam I cannot make any reccommendations as to size or tisse to remove.
