Dr. Cindy Wu is a board-certified plastic surgeon with additional specialization in Aesthetic Breast and Body Surgery. She is proud to be an active member in The Aesthetic Society, The American Society for Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), and the Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (SESPRS). Originally from Michigan, Dr. Wu is now proud to call North Carolina her home.

Dr. Cindy Wu is in private practice at Cynthia Gregg MD, Face and Body Specialists in Cary, North Carolina. Prior to this, she was an Assistant Professor in Plastic Surgery at the University of North Carolina.
Education & Training
Dr. Cindy Wu received her medical degree from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. She then completed a five-year general surgery residency at the University of Chicago, followed by a three-year plastic surgery residency at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. From there, she completed a one year Aesthetic and Breast Fellowship with world-renowned reconstructive and aesthetic surgeon, Dr. James C. Grotting in Birmingham, Alabama.

Do I qualify for a breast reduction if I have 32DDD/34DD's, back neck and shoulder pain, shoulder grooves and band grooves? What qualifications do I need to meet for a reduction?

Yes. Based on your cup size, and symptoms, it sounds like you would get significant improvement in your quality of life after a breast reduction. The symptoms you have described are very common for women with large, heavy breasts. After breast reduction, women feel a weight lifted off their shoulders, literally, and enjoy not only relief of their pain, but also a more aesthetically pleasing breast appearance. I would recommend that you meet with a board certified aesthetic plastic surgeon to discuss breast reduction surgery.

Dr. Cindy Wu is the recipient of two Plastic Surgery Foundation Pilot Research Grants for her research in patient preferences in aesthetic surgery, and social media in aesthetic surgery. Her research team received the Best Reconstructive Paper Award for their work on laser therapy of hypertrophic burn scars.
